Perfect Gift for Gamers: The Tron Controller

Saturday, January 08th, 2011

If you’re looking for a gift for a gamer that’s current and still a little out of the ordinary, we recommend the Tron game controller.  The controller has a streamlined feel and is embellished with neon blue accents that light up (just like in the film).  This new controller runs about $50 and is available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  There’s also a wireless version for the Wii. You’ll never want to play in the dark again without it.

You can find the Tron controller at the PDP website.  The controllers are being produced in a limited edition and each one is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Another great gift for gamers is the new Kinect motion controller.

Wii Did It!

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Nintendo’s Wii can now add another sales record to its already impressive list. According to figures from marketing research company NPD, the Wii is now the fastest-selling game console in history in the U.S. Shipment of more than 20 million units in 31 months on the market set the record. The worldwide sales are over 50 million consoles, according to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, which possibly means that the Wii also has the worldwide record.

The Wii differentiated itself from other game consoles with its remote wireless controller which can detect motion in 3D space, allowing more interaction and new kinds of games. Nintendo has targeted new groups of users with the Wii, including senior citizens and parents. The strategy seems to have helped pave the way to success.
